1. President had no authority to set-up military commissions without Congressional approval.
2. May have violated Geneva Convention
3. SCOTUS has authority to rule on this case
This seems the most outrageous..... We cannot win this war if we must rely on the Courts to fight it with us. I can't wait to hear Dr Levin tonight on this abomination.
May have? Many of the people caught were not wearing a uniform.
(Denny Crane: "Every one should carry a gun strapped to their waist. We need more - not less guns.")
handing out candy to children across the islamic-world...pyschos doing the AK-47 happy dance...
So the President simply seeks Congressional approval.
Shift responsibility to the bedbugs in Congress.
"May have violated Geneva Convention"
Who the heck is "Geneva" and why should I care about her Convention? Where was "Geneva" when 3,000 of our noncombatants were murdered? Where was the convention by others countries to help us throw out Saddam? Which, frankly, begs the question, does Geneva's Convention apply when Saddam's boy's are running rape rooms, or digging mass graves? I think Geneva has been a failure. Do you think the terrorists are ruminating on whether their actions are in conflict with Miss Geneva?
How come they get to decide if they get to decide? Where's the check and balance there?
susie
WHAT does Geneva Convention have to do with it?
Even if Roberts had ruled, we would have lost.
The big loss here is the Geneva ruling. That is the problem.
The military tribunal issue can be easily fixed by a congressional authorization.
