When he is wrong (and that happens to all of us); he comes right out and posts his corrections.

He's an honorable guy- I used to listen to him on Mike Reagan's show in pre-web days, and the stuff he uncovered on violations of National Security ( by guess who? ) were astounding. And chilling.

I'm talking about the security codes for our satellites migrating from the Department of Defense, to Commerce ( Ron Brown... ) then out the door to who knows where? Same with the Legacy software that had details of every nuclear warhead we ever built- how to design, test and maintain them. Same Deal. How dud cruise missiles in Bosnia were recovered, shipped to Red China, and cloned.

And more- I can't remember it all, it was so pervasive and vast.

And all the while, assorted enablers among the public and the media chanted "the stock market's good, we're not at war, sooo what? Whooo cares?"

My tagline's a tossaway dig- but it's also the plain truth.

Charles R. Smith has been one that I've followed for years. Always insightful and quite prescient.
