The easiest way to think about it is to divide the Old Testament law into two pieces: the moral law and the ceremonial law. The moral law are those commands such as "thou shalt no kill", "thou shalt not commit adultery", etc. The ceremonial laws are those that dealt with such things as temple worship, sacrifice, and ceremonial cleanness.

The moral still applies, the ceremonial does not, as all of the ceremonies were fulfilled in Christ's coming (because their purpose in existence was to point to him; for instance, the sacrifices were to indicate the purpose in his coming, to be a sacrifice that would cleanse from sin; the temple was a dim picture of that which is in heaven).
