How will Iran attack Israel? They certainly cannot do it by land and they would require a number of refuelings to do it by air. Any missile attack would be met by a counter attack with cruise missiles from Israels subs. Israel's nuclear weapons also pose a serious deterrent. Iran cannot compete with Israel militarily. We woould get involved diplomatically, but not militarily.

Iran has a mutual defense arrangement with Syria. If Israel attacks Syria, Iran might move and give us the opening - not that we really need them to fight 2 fronts to win, but it couldn't hurt and makes them look foolish.
