The most amazing thing I got out of this interesting exchange is that Bush actually asks Kofi for help with getting some things accomplished.
I would consider that a complete and utter waste of time, but I guess Bush knows more than me. I've never asked Kofi to do anything.

The MSM thinks this will be some sort of wedge issue between Christian Conservatives who they see as tea-totalling idiots and the Republican party.
That can't be. The MSM is vehemently opposed to wedge issues.
If this story does click with the MSM, maybe Bush should consider using a swear word any time he wants news to get out. "Did you see that effing 5.2% GDP growth last effing quarter?"

Bush is as much of a cowboy as Mickey Rooney. Wearing jeans and a hat and clearling a little brush during photo ops doesn't make you a cowboy. I live in Texas and I know what a cowboy is - trust me, Bush ain't one of 'em.
He's a blue-blooded yankee cowboy-wannabee.
Plus, a real cowboy would actually give a damn about our nation's sovereignty, it's culture, our borders, etc, etc.
I voted for the man twice, and given the same choices, I would reluctantly do so again. But, don't call the man a cowboy. Please.

Why do I feel like I was listening to a wiretap?
Bush to Blair: Did you take care of the thing?
Blair to Bush: You mean the thing in Brussels?
Bush To Blair: Yeah. They're bustin Gate's balls ...all cuz he's a big earner.
Blair to Bush: Si si.
Bush to Blair: GRATZE.

I remember when President Reagan was in Japan and was making a recorded speech that was to be translated. He kept butchering the pronunciation of the Prime Ministers name. After really botching it at one point he got this frustrated look on his face and goes, "ah dammit!"
Everyone smiled and it didn't hurt him a bit.
Besides...Hezbollah does need to stop this shit.

Bush never professed to be perfect. Why do you people insist on holding Bush's religion against him? Bush has never claimed God told him to do anything. Frankly it is the lapdog media that makes far more out of Bush's religion than he does.
And Bush didn't say anything "in front of the world's media." Bush was having a private conversation being eaves-dropped on by the media. The same media that wrings its hands over privacy and the wiretapping of Al Qaeda suspects had no compunction about listening in on a private conversation between Bush and Blair...and then publishing it.

Remove the state sponsorship from the terrorist groups and you destroy the bulk of the terrorist groups ability to project power.
What the Knee Jerk Bush haters still have not learned is we cannot act like the Sovs in Afghanistan and simply declare war on all of Islam. Right now the bulk of the fighting and dying ON OUR SIDE of the war on Terrorist is being done by Muslim Iraqis, Afghanis and Pakistanis. The Armchair Patton's are advocating turning all those allies into enemies.
What the vapid old Know Nothings and the Freeper rabid Arm Chair generals, with their hysteric screaming of "It's World War 3", would do is covert THIS Counter Terrorist limited war into a total war of genocide against all Muslims. That would be utterly stupid. They want to turn this limited war into a neo Imperialistic forever war which we would end up losing.
The Nazis in Eastern Europe and the Russians in Afghanistan tried this "total war" doctrine of the Know Nothings. Historically it has always ended in utter failure since the major power involved simply exhausts their military power, treasure and political will LONG before they manage to kill off the natives. The natives have no choice, THEY live there while the occupiers can always simply go home.
Successful Counter Insurgency ALWAYS relies upon pitting one native group against another. You MUST build an effective political society while destroying the insurgents efforts to build a shadow govt. If you do not your occupation ends in a death of a thousand cuts daily seepage of blood and treasure.

Blair: Is this...? (at this point Blair taps the microphone in front of him and the sound is cut.) Looks like they both set it up that way, had their say, then signaled the sound to be cut,.
If not, then the problem exists on the Blair team, it was his mike.

If the West doesn't try to save their sorry buttslike they have every other time, and lets Israel do its job, that will put an end to Hezbollah's "s#!t" for a while.

Blair: Because I think this is all part of the same thing.
Bush: Yeah.
Blair: What does he think? He thinks if Lebanon turns out fine, if we get a solution in Israel and Palestine, Iraq goes in the right way...
Bush: Yeah, yeah, he is sweet.
Blair: He is honey. And thats what the whole thing is about. Its the same with Iraq. It's hard to figure out who exactly they're talking about. The only thing for sure is that they're being sarcastic with the "sweet" and "honey" talk.
My take is that they're talking about somebody who they think is trying to ratchet up the trouble in the Middle East, and why he's doing it. They also seem to think that they can put pressure on him by getting word to Assad via Kofi.
Therefore, my guess is that they're talking about Ahmadinejad

While I agree with you working with the UN is a massive circle j--k, you think maybe the media might cull out of this conversation that Bush isn't so "unilateral" or a "cowboy" willing only to resort to the use of force as a first blush response to something as he entertains how to work out a diplomatic solution to this problem. No, instead of giving Bush any credit they have to report him using a word that I'm sure free flows out of their mouths, and many others like it, in most of their news rooms. It shows how childish and lame the media's become "Mommy! George said a bad word!"

Is there anything you LIKE about President Bush?
Btw, he's not a yankee. He moved to Texas when he was about 3 years old. The man is now 60, so he's spent 57 of his 60 years in Texas. He's a Texan.
