Well actually, no, but an absolutely terrific read nonetheless! I still don't have a bona fide clue why the scientific community would behave the way they do. Are their sacred cows really that sacred? You know, it looks to me like we have a Ministry of Science, if not in fact, at least in practice. I've asked the question before without getting an acceptable response: What's really at risk here??? In my best Karl Sagan voice: Bullion$ and bullion$?
Or maybe it's more than that. What happens to the scientific community if they are found to be frauds by the public? A loss of confidence by the unwashed could create all manner of problems, eh? Losing confidence in one institution might lead to questions about all institutions? Sheesh!
