United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan charged early Wednesday morning that Israel deliberately targeted a United Nations post in Lebanon late Tuesday night, killing four UNIFIL members.
They were part of the international body's peace keeping force in Lebanon that was created in 1978 after the beginning of the Peace for Galilee Campaign, Dan Gillerman, Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations said he was "shocked" by Annan's accusations and demanded an apology.
Wow...... A UN ambulette picking up a bunch of terrorists to get them out of harms way? Interesting?
I wouldn't doubt for a minute that they were aiding HezzBullShite in some way.
Obverse side of the same coin. The Hezzies were afraid the UN might help the enemy. Not very likely but then Hezzies take no chances nor recognize friend and foe except amongst themselves.
When is the last time the UN ever fired a shot at anyone?
It seems like I've heard of a couple of instances where Israeli soldiers have been ambushed in the past week (due to inside info being leaked?). I have wondered how that could happen and who could be leaking.
Now maybe we know who/why. And if true, I wouldn't have blamed Israel for deliberately targeting them.

I remember hearing about some UNIFIL soldiers being paid by Hezbollah in 2001, there is an old thread on FR about it.
I've just received word that the 4 UN observers were NOT KILLED by Hesbollah rockets but rather Israel shelling. It's reported that 1 UN soldier tried to call Israel soldiers 10 times by telephone that Israeli shells were were falling too close
