Iran plays stabilising role in Middle East - France (Vichy)

Iran is a significant, respected player in the Middle East which is playing a stabilising role, French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy said on Monday.

"It was clear that we could never accept a destabilisation of Lebanon, which could lead to a destabilisation of the region," Douste-Blazy said in Beirut.

"In the region there is of course a country such as Iran -- a great country, a great people and a great civilisation which is respected and which plays a stabilising role in the region," he told a news conference.

The United States blames Iran and Syria for destabilising the region by backing Hizbollah guerrillas in Lebanon who have been battling Israeli forces for nearly three weeks.

The French government seems to support almost anything the Americans don't.

Why are we shocked by this? The French are the ones who harbored the Ayatollah Khomeini for 15 years before he returned to Iran.

Al-Reuters again, S.O.S. This is a great example of the twisted, perverted world of the leftists, where they create their own reality to make THEMSELVES feel good about any event, and to side their political thinking.

Ahmahdinejad is an evil mad genius. I predicted this would happen. Israel is now the "problem child" on the block, not Iran. I expect at some point that Iran will declare its membership in the nuclear club, then very plainly warn the Israelis that its time to walk away from their country for the good of world peace. At which point, of course, the U.N. and Old Europe (heck maybe our own government) will concur.

I can't believe they are serious. This is pure Scrappleface material.

Apparently to the Jew-hating French, Iran's rhetoric about wiping Israel of the face of the earth is just the stabilization they are looking for.

It's always a good thing when France exposes more and more of its true agenda.

Hey France, how many oil contracts you angling to get from the Islamofacists in Iran?
Gotta find something to replace all them oil for food money youall lost from Saddam's downfall, right?

This is why the French volunteered to send troops for an International Force on the border.

They want to protect Hezbollah, and allow shipment of arms to remain robust.
