'Baby, Give Me a Kiss'(Girls Gone Wild)
LA Times ^ | August 6, 2006 | Claire Hoffman

Posted on 08/08/2006 4:50:25 AM PDT by Dane

Joe Francis, the founder of the "Girls Gone Wild" empire, is humiliating me. He has my face pressed against the hood of a car, my arms twisted hard behind my back. He's pushing himself against me, shouting: "This is what they did to me in Panama City!"

I know it's the LA Times, but the article does show the depravity of modern American culture, it is quite sad, such as this girls experience of getting her "Girls Gone Wild" t-shirt.

Eventually, Szyszka says, Francis told the cameraman to leave and pushed her back on the bed, undid his jeans and climbed on top of her. "I told him it hurt, and he kept doing it. And I keep telling him it hurts. I said, 'No' twice in the beginning, and during I started saying, 'Oh, my god, it hurts.' I kept telling him it hurt, but he kept going, and he said he was sorry but kissed me so I wouldn't keep talking."

Afterward, she says, Francis cleaned them both off with a paper towel and told her to get dressed. Then, she says, he opened the door and told the cameraman to come back, saying, "She's not a virgin anymore."

Szyszka says Francis told her that what happened had to stay between them. She says she agreed, and they walked to the front of the bus. Szyszka remembers that one of the crew returned her driver's license. Another asked if she wanted to hang out on the bus. She declined, she says, but asked for three pairs of "booty short" underwear that Francis had promised her for appearing on camera. "They gave me a weird look like that was too much," Szyszka recalls. "They were, like, 'Three of them?' and I was, like, 'Yeah, three.'"

Within days, Szyszka says, she told her father, who was angry about what she said had happened but kept quiet at her request.

These guys travel in a bus wrapped with the Girls Gone Wild graphics and trailing a mini-van.

Not sure why Claire Hoffman didn't press assault charges.

Have been seeing TV ads recently for "Boys Gone Wild," and they sure don't appear to be marketed toward women.

Is she suing? One hopes so. She's stupid, but just because you're stupid doesn't mean you deserve to be raped.

Can't believe that there are that many beautiful young women willing to through themselves away for a pair of underwear?

I guess the answer is these young people actually think they can achieve stardom by exposing themselves for a few minutes.

A long story' Its about a cheap movie maker making cheap porn. It does give you some incite into America's party scene where women are also cheap. He isnt taking advantage of them they are taking advantage of him. They want to be in these films. The one part about the girl using a Dildo on herself for the camera's and then claiming she was a virgin , is a joke IMO. It would have been a miracle if she had gotten out of the bus without getting raped and I am surprised she didnt have to screw the whole bus. Any parent who reads this and allows their daughter to go to spring break is a damned fool.

Is this what NOW has done? They liberated women so much they all want to be in Girls gone Wild?

"Most guys want to have sex with me and maybe I could meet one new guy, but if I get filmed everyone could see me," Bultema says. "If you do this, you might get noticed by somebody—to be an actress or a model."

I ask her why she wants to get noticed. "You want people to say, 'Hey, I saw you.' Everybody wants to be famous in some way. Getting famous will get me anything I want. If I walk into somebody's house and said, 'Give me this,' I could have it."

It' s interesting, because men often get criticized for falling into the "Playboy mentality" - thinking that women who don't look like the airbrushed models in the magazine aren't attractive enough. But the rise of the Girls Gone Wild culture indicates that young women are just as vulnerable to media manipulation. They wouldn't be caught dead dating Clarence the computer science major, but they are willing to engage in just about any kind of sexual display in the clubs or on camera in the hope that an acceptably wealthy/powerful/attractive man will notice them. And ultimately, that's all Girls Gone Wild does - offer the vain hope that a Heath Ledger or Ben Affleck might be watching the video and call the girl up out of the blue to be his next co-star/girlfriend/wife. The problem is, Clarence is the guy buying most of those videos... ;)

Joe Francis has shrewdly taken advantage of that innate desire, offering some minimal, ephemeral chance at "fame" to these girls and enriching himself in the process. It really isn't any different than the record moguls who made a fortune off of bobby soxers in the Fifties swooning over James Dean types - only the tactics have changed.

How many vile, worthless scumsuckers have to hide behind the First Amendment before our court system gets the idea that maybe, just maybe, this is not what the Founding Fathers intended at all?

To a certain mindset (well represented on this forum), Freedom means the absolute right to scratch any and every itch at any time and in any place.

"If you do this, you might get noticed by somebody—to be an actress or a model."

I can't decide if this is some freaky bi-product of the womyn's movement, or if some segment of the female population has just always been dumb.

How 'bout this, honey...

If I work hard, I might be an engineer, doctor, business owner, financial analyst, writer, chef...

I'm glad I was a skinny and plain teenager. I never had the delusion that I would make it in this world through anything other than hard work and persistence.

It's not NOW, it's young women today who have been brought up with NO family values.

People do more to protect their personal property than they do their children.

Yes, and their brand of freedom is well represented in this most disturbing piece, to wit: Freedom to troll the country for vulnerable girls; freedom for a misogynist to essentially rape a drunken, star-struck teenager; freedom for a cosmically misguided girl to sell her soul for three pairs of panties; freedom for the same misogynist to manhandle an obliging reporter; freedom from decency, morality and, above all, parental responsibility. If "freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose", we have lost it all.
