What an amazing conclusion!

The most productive citizens live in the suburbs. They will move their work there.

The socialist cities will be annihilated.

That's what I did. Get a job in the suburb close to my house. I'd be willing to pay $20 a gallon for gas just to avoid living in a city.

"What an amazing conclusion!"

Nah, just the fantasies of "sustainable urban planners". ;)The same ones they've had for the last 30 years or so. ;)

I'll *never* move back to town. There's plenty of other ways to cut down on both my gas consumption and my spending. :)

Of course. Isn't it amazing that the fools in the MSM "forgot" to think of the ease in which the majority of office workers can today work from home?

Any savings gained by the millions swarming to the cities will be more then offset by the rise in taxes in those cities that will follow in order to grow the services needed to support the huge influx. Add to that the fact the real estate market will boom, pushing prices through the roof as all those suburbanites rush to buy property and it is easy to see that this gloom and doom scenario will never take place.

Thought we'd been in that process for the last few decades.

I think you are absolutly right.

This will destroy the cities not the 'burbs.

The most productive people will find a way to move the best parts of their lives OUT of the cities.

This is just a socialist "urban spral" dream; where the GOP votes of the suburbs will be nullified by the city votes. The economy will adjust somehow, but I will assure you the suburbs will keep growing.

Exactly, want to end Sprawl?.... end Liberalism. (ie, Enforce laws, stop Welfare born pathogens, and lower urban taxes)

Nope. The most productive people live in the nicest areas of the cities. The middling people live in the suburbs. Check out per capita income.

That's an interesting statistic, and one I haven't heard before. Can you cite a source for that, please?

"The most productive citizens live in the suburbs. They will move their work there. The socialist cities will be annihilated."

From your lips to Socialist tin ears, LOL!

We live "out in the boonies." And yes, the cost of gasoline has been a factor in our budget over this past year, but we can feed ourselves out here by gardening, gathering, hunting, butchering, fishing, baking bread, canning and preserving, cooking from scratch, etc.

Husbands commute to "work" is about 13 minutes, but he could easily lose the office space and just work from home if it really comes down to it. As an Accountant, I am always "crunching the numbers" to see if our "lifestyle" remains worthwhile; it does. ;)

I work from home with four 'streams of income' (egg sales, book sales on Amazon.com, Bookkeeping & Farm Stand sales) and a fifth income stream in the hopper if the Local Florist within 5 minutes of our farm hires me to both man the shop & grow cut flowers for her. Fingers crossed!

I totally pity the Libs in Big City USA who couldn't feed and dress themselves if their lives depended upon it. Can anyone even brew their own cup of morning coffee these days?

Sure doesn't look like it from where I'm sitting, but I'd be MORE than happy to brew it for them, LOL!
