Does anyone know what's the deal with all the beeps in the tapes?

They have "edited them" under the guise that it would upset the families if we heard the anguish of the callers.

It would also reinvigorate the American people with anger about what these terrorist did to innocent citizens, and what a terrible enemy we still face.

I myself was more angry at the editing out of the callers with that beeping. For those of you who wish to listen, it goes like this:

CALLER: "beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep......beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
eeeeeeeeeep.....beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep.

911 DISPATCHER: "Oh my God! Oh my God. Just stay calm, OK, oh Lord! Listen, we are coming for you, OK? Just try to stay calm. Try to stay low. Can I call your loved ones for you?

CALLER: "Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep."

DISPATCHER: "Oh God. Oh God. Oh, just try to stay with me. Say your prayers baby, keep praying."

CALLER: "Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep."

It really annoys me that they edited this like we are citizens of the Third Reich who cannot be trusted in listening to this five years later.
