You are correct SJackson, there has never been anything prior The Passion about Mel Gibson and his father's beliefs. It was only until The Passion came out that they tried to align him with his father's beliefs

That’s not what I said. His father's beliefs were known for decades. As was the fact that he was a celebrities son. It became an issue for Mel when he seemingly endorsed, at the very least excused his fathers views. That's entirely proper.

So, if Hitler were your father, you would not denounce his terrible beliefs and practices?... Yes, even Hitler was nice to animals.….That is really a stupid analogy, not fitting of a Dodgers fan. Mel Gibson's father said stupid despicable things, he didn't murder six million human beings….Now it is you who is making light of the Holocaost. …I would say see you at the series, but I don't think so.

Actually, it’s a simple fact, Hitler was fond of animals, particularly his dogs. An example of minimizing the Holocaust would be Hutton, who contends Hitler didn’t murder Jews.

What if we change the question to you would not denounce his terrible beliefs and practices?. We’ll leave the actions out, concentrate on beliefs.

Would you condemn Hutton’s Holocaust denial? Would you condemn the suggestion that Alan Greenspan, Jew financier, be hung.

At the Wannsee conference, and in a party meeting the month before, Hitler suggested the Jews of Europe be exterminated for causing WWI and WWII. Would you condemn the belief that Jews caused WWI and WWII, or all the worlds wars.

If you read my posts, in all most all of them, I have said that what Hutton Gibson said was stupid, and dispicable. I even called him a kook. It goes without saying that I find his beleifs beyond dispicable.
But that still doesn't mean I feel media outlets should be calling the almost 90 year old celebrities of parents. I still believe in something called fairness.

Thank you. Apparently, our "friend" Brigada is still in denial about what a bad character Mel Gibson is. The thought that he is a bigot would tarnish her idealized image of him. On her coins she should write, IN GIBSON WE TRUST. She can deny it all she wants, BUT THE TRUTH WILL SET HER FREE.
