President Bush shares a meal with troops at Fort Hood, Texas, Tuesday, April 12, 2005. The two divisions on base are the 1st Cavalry Division and the 4th Infantry Division. There are 44,188 soldiers and airmen stationed at the base and on an average day, there are 25,000 soldiers from Fort Hood serving outside the Continental United States.

President Bush removes new Brig. Gen. (Dr.) Richard J. Tubb's eagles (colonel's insignia) during the doctor's promotion ceremony in the Oval Office Jan. 13, 2006. Dr. Tubb's wife, Kathy, also assisted with the ceremony. Dr. Tubb, a U.S. Air Force Academy graduate, is the president's physician. As the director of the medical unit, Dr. Tubb runs a staff of about 25 of the nearly 2,000 people assigned to the White House Military Office.

Thanks for the Dose, Wolfstar. What a great theme--again! You are great at putting together a Dose when there aren't new photos. It is always a pleasure and also very poignant to see GWB with the troops. I love this photo of them grabbing his hand/arm. Gives me goosebumps.

Thanks for all the photos, but the second one on post #9, with all the troops reaching for and touching Pres. Bush, is really great - and it makes me think his Secret Service men must go crazy at these events where he just plunges into the crowd. LOL!
