Even if the Unions drive up Wal-Mart's costs by getting Democrats to create legislation poorly designed to achieve it's stated goals, but instead designed to harm Wal-mart's ability to compete, they won't change the fact that a large percentage of retail items sold are imported.

The Unions have already driven up the costs of our domestic manufacturing so high that despite supply chain delays and the cost of shipping items, it just not cost effective to manufacture a great many items in the United States.

Unions are parasites. They are only needed when employers are abusing employees. The free market addresses bad employers by giving employees other options. Unions address the problem by creating a complicated set of rules that are mostly designed to make workers dependent on the Unions.

They do sometimes provide short term benefits to workers, but only if they can prevent a competitive market, because the Union itself is an expensive layer of overhead, and if they actually work out problems between workers and management they become a pointless expense.

The need to keep the workers from becoming satisfied while making sure they blame that dissatisfaction on the employer. That's not usually a difficult task, because it's man's nature to complain about their employer.

However, Wal-Mart has done a good job of convincing employees that the grass is not greener in a Union store, as have employers in most manufacturing companies that are still profitable.

Workers are rejecting unions as being crooked organizations that look after the interests of the union, not the interests of the workers. Therefore the unions are using the typical trick that liberal organizations use.

Set up a fake advocacy organization with a great sounding message that conceals their real goals. Then they start and spread conspiracy theories and prey on fear and ignorance.

Hurting Wal-Mart doesn't threaten the Longshormen. It just might change who is importing goods.

Unions are one of the main causes we have such a high trade deficit. They are not capable of reducing it without undermining their own power.

While Unions may seem good in concept, and actually can be beneficial on a small scale as long as they remain small and truly concentrate on the best interests of the local members.

Larger Unions have without exception become corrupt entities that sacrifice the well being of their members for the sake of power, control, and often wealth for the Union leadership.

How do you think competition bases it's pricing?

Unionizing Wal-Mart has nothing to do with importations.
