A vote for ANYone that does nothing to earn it, is a vote for mediocrity.
In a two party democratic system(I know I know representative republic), Mediocrity is usually the best case scenario. Take Bush for instance, his administration has been plagued by mediocrity. Kerry on the other hand would have been much worse than mere mediocrity.

(Media, the plural of mediocrity)

The way out of this hole we are in, where our Representatives do ALL that we rebelled against at the start, is to hold them accountable. That means, tearing apart the party bond that holds them together. I for one will never vote for a person because of his or her party affiliation again. I will instead vote against all incumbents, save for those that distinguish themselves with fervor for the Constitution. I can think of only a handful (literally) who do that now. Damn the torpedos, full speed ahead.
