My brother was on an Air Force FAC team in Vietnam. Says that one time they were really hot on a mountain top and a Chinook came, dropped tail ramp while hovering. He then drove their jeep inside with nothing to spare on the sides and they were out of there. Now that is what I would call flying. Says he still doesn't know how they made it. - Wasn't their turn!
Anybody with a better story?

Would they try such a risky maneuver to load Taliban prisoners? Why not find a safer place to load them?
Agreed, winch him up, part way, inverted.

Your sense of humor comes up a little short.I agree. Max's juvenile post is pathetic in belittling a dangerous, heroic operation.
I'm guessing he's a MOONBAT.

That is the convention here when referring to a MOONBAT.
Based upon your disrespect for the United States military, you are awarded the MOONBAT award.

And before you purists run me over, I know it's probably not a Sikorsky, That's right, it's from Boeing Vertrol, formerly Piasecki.
These are the great granddaddies of all tandem rotor helicopters
