Maybe so. They certain work hard enough to keep Asians from taking more of the slots in top California schools: they, the Mexicans, and the blacks. There is a part of "white culture" that values sports and other things more than the academic side of school. That's why Jews and--less famously, Irish-Catholics --tend to outshine other ethnics financially.

Or being able to cooperate beyond tribalizm? I'm not sure any other ethnic group in the world could even comprehend the idea of "diversity."

Monogomy, reflex obedience of law, patriotism, teamwork, acknowledgement of ones betters, respect for teachers, preference for problem resolution via dialog, disinclination to violence, community standards of morality, marriage before pregnancy, cultural prohibition on teen motherhood, dislike of gangs, and of course, teaching kids to swim.

Heard a WSJ reporter Dan Golden (that's GOLDEN not Goldin) promoting a book, "The Price of Admission...".

Asians have to get a 1600 (at the time) on their SATs to be admitted to the "elite" schools. The ones
that get screwed are white males and very-smart-but-not-quite-perfect Asians.
