Want Republicans to act like Republicans?
Bret Schundler

Want Republican candidates and officeholders to act like Republicans?
Then show them New Jersey is not an impossibly Democrat state!

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

New Jersey Democrats often romp in districts where Republicans should be competitive. Why?

Because they get money and manpower from special interests.

Where are the people who want government to serve the general interest?

Too often on the sidelines -- thinking of leaving New Jersey.

That's the wrong place to be. Moreover, leaving won't bring happiness.

Happiness comes from within. From committing yourself to something that is true and good. From fighting the good fight -- and because you have fought, from sometimes winning and achieving something worthy!

We have great Republican candidates running throughout New Jersey. They need your help!

Look at Congressman Scott Garrett. He's as fine and decent a person as you are ever going to meet, willing to stand for principle -- and for that reason mercilessly targeted by the Democrats. (Next Event: 9/18. Campaign Office: 973-300-0470.)

Look at Vince Micco, running in the 9th Congressional District -- a pro-life, pro-lower taxes veteran of the war in Iraq who is willing to say that we should not abandon the people of the Middle East to Fascism. (Big Event: 10/11. Campaign Office: 973-403-7836.)

Look at LeighAnn Bellew, a "Mom With A Mission," running against Congressman Frank Pallone in a District where Republicans should be able to win, standing up for every principle that you and I care about. (Events 9/24, 9/28, and 10/12. Campaign Office: 732-670-9839.)

And we have incredibly fine people running NOT just for federal office, but for county and local office as well, all across the state. You want Republican candidates who act like Republicans? You've got them!

Now the question is, are you going to fight for them? Are you going to show that New Jersey is not a hard-core Democratic state so future Republican candidates will continue to stand for principle? Or shall we abandon these patriots, so future Republican candidates believe the only way to win is to act like a Democrat.

I know what I am going to do. I am going to honor the Americans who died to give us freedom by fighting to preserve it.

I am going to make hundreds of calls before the end of this month to supporters of our ideals and try to get them involved in this fall's campaign.

Please join me! We need to build an army of patriotic citizens who are willing to fight for the general interest!

Go to www.njgop.org and click on the "Make Calls From Home" tab. The name and phone number of a loyal Republican will come up on your computer screen, as will a phone script. Follow the phone script and ask that loyal Republican to go to www.njgop.org and make similar phone calls to loyal Republicans. If during the month of September, people like you and me recruit other people like you to recruit other people like you and me -- all into this fall's historic election fight -- then, come October, we will have an army of patriotic New Jerseyans ready to help Scott Garrett, Vince Micco, LeighAnn Bellew and all of the other great candidates on the Republican ticket.

Committing ourselves to do this won't just help a lot of principled candidates win. It will also help a lot of wavering candidates gain the courage to fight for principle. Politicians follow where the people lead.

Let me plead with you, personally, to go to www.njgop.org and make at least 25 calls. And please do this as soon as possible, so the patriots you recruit have time to help us recruit still more patriots.

Also, please consider making more than 25 calls. I'll be making hundreds. You can use your cell phone's free night and weekend minutes so making these calls won't cost a dime.

If those of us who love freedom are NOT willing to fight for it, everything we treasure about this country will be lost.

If you want to know who's job it is to fix the Republican Party and secure a better future -- it's OURS!

Counting on you,

Bret Schundler

You're the man Bret but as long as Tom Wilson is the chair for the NJ GOP, I'm not going to me making any phone calls or giving any money.

"That's the wrong place to be. Moreover, leaving won't bring happiness."

I moved to Texas. brought me tons of happiness. New Jersey is a cesspool of corruption and the people that vote for the RATS get what they deserve.

Congrats on your happiness in Texas. I don't live there now, but I like Texas. Of course, only you can make yourself happy, a place is just a place.

All in all, come the election, I would much rather teach Democrats a lesson than Republicans. The big picture on who is the real enemy must be maintained.

On the other hand, the next time my wife makes a decor change I don't like, maybe I'll burn the house down, just to, you know, "teach her a lesson." Yeah, that'll teach her, grrrrr...
