Good to see you too. I enjoy hearing the rain drops on the roof and no buckets necessary to catch leaks and I no longer need to cover my computer with a tarp when it rains. LOL

What a treat for the CO, to have Laura Bush on his arm.
Gah, could you imagine having Hillary latched on to you?

Hi Snugs...Hope you're fine this evening!
I have a funny question. I am sure you are somewhat excited about Blair's departure in the spring. Although he has been a great ally in the WOT, he is not a conservative, so for me it is certainly a bitter sweet thing knowing how eager you are for conservative leadership.
So here is my question: If he leaves and his successor is weak, what are the chances that eventually there will be an election in which conservatives regain control and that they remain tough in the WOT?
That was kind of convoluted, but I think you get what I mean. : D. I'm still trying to get a grasp of just how your politics work.

I have never known any of those foods were forbidden for dogs. I'm glad to know it now.

I checked a few meringue cookie recipes and their recipes look easier and have fewer ingredients than divinity.
I have made divinity (years ago); it's a lot more work than I like to put into making a confection, especially when the store has them. They do make a wonderful holiday presentation.
I've had meringue cookies and they also melt in your mouth.

Snugs, I just learned something fascinating about Britain. I was listening to our National Public Radio and I heard the BBC orch. playing Pomp and Circumstance which we play at graduations. But the announer said it was Land of Hope and Glory. They're the same melody. Written by Alger, a Brit. VERY stirring music.

"I'm just going to quietly point out that Ohio State is beating Texas 17-7.
In one of very few situations where I oppose the President, I am quite pleased right now, but don't wish to offend our First Couple by being too filled with glee. ;)"
LOL! . . . Even though I know it would make the President's night to have the Longhorns win, I just can't help but root for our Buckeyes! [My sister-in-law is a 'TV personality' in the Columbus market and counts herself as one of Coach Tressel's (sic?) best-friends -- She actually used the Buckeyes fight song as her wedding march!!]

In a surprise for the approximately 200 Marines awaiting their flight to Iraq, President Bush took time out to greet them yesterday evening. How terrific for those reservists!!

tm! What a picture that is, of you huddled under a tarp, computing away. I'm glad you didn't have your Pc or any appliances shorting out. You must be thrilled to have that roof fixed. Good job.

No, sorry I don't know what the black stripes are for, GEM. But what's been bothering me since I saw the Dose is, "How the heck did Laura get her left leg out to take the next step without tripping over whatever that thing is in her path?"

could you imagine having Hillary latched on to you? Well, at first I thought, Parasite! But then I thought, Nah, she wouldn't have taken the arm of a ship's captain. So our military would be safe on that count. In fact, I wonder if she'd even accept being the "sponsor" of anything in the US fleet.
These are things we can be grateful for.

What a treat for the CO, to have Laura Bush on his arm. Yes, and what a treat for the crew to have Lady Laura aboard. And I am sure she treats all the enlisted men with respect.
