If only she had advocated assassinating President Bush, they would have given her a promotion.
This sounds like an in-school, administrative problem, easily handled (substitute teacher).
To arrest her, given the behavior described above, sounds like a violation of the First Amendment, and hardly cause for police action. Depending, of course, on how much one's state's authorities *get* that Bill of Rights thingy.
Let us guess what this class was.
Rhetoric 101? (No. No, I don't think so)
A 100-series class within the Foreign Language umbrella? (No, not subtle enough to get past the parents)
CIA Vocational Prep Academy coursework? (I'm not so sure the NEA would have checked off on that)
Propaganda 101? (You got it...oh, and BTW, if you want to know what coursework division that's in, look in the art section--"Liberal Arts")
jihadist's going off on anti-American tirades, however, are perfectly acceptable, so the cops would never have been called.
I think everybody needs to learn the native tongue. (So just find out what Native American tribe inhabited your neck of the woods and get book-crackin'!)
"Teachers Gone Wild"
She really needs to take some meds.
I agree with her that PC run amock is a problem, but this is not how to express it.
Aunt Flow is in town?

Woman Escorted From Maryland High School
A Maryland substitute teacher was arrested after an alleged anti-Shinto tirade in front of high school students.
Carol Joan McVey, 49, was charged with resisting arrest, trespassing, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.
Police said McVey became upset when she heard some students at Gaithersburg High School, who were being assisted by another teacher, practicing a speech and using some Japanese words.
The Washington Post said she reacted after overhearing the group utter an Japanese greeting of peace.
Charging documents allege McVey shouted, "Shinto doesn't mean peace, it means Japan should rule the world!" and "Because of you, our families died at Pearl Harbor!"
It's not known if anyone who heard the remarks is Shinto.
Authorities said McVey went to the school office to express her displeasure about the speech and the assisting teacher and was told by the principal that her services were no longer needed at the school
Police said she refused to leave and was escorted from the school by the educational facilities officer.
While being escorted from the building, McVey allegedly yelled at a German teacher about the inappropriateness of speaking to students in languages other than English.
Once the substitute teacher was outside, police said she allegedly tried to re-enter the school and the school's educational facilities officer attempted to place her under arrest, but she resisted and an additional officer was called to assist.
Police said McVey was released on her own recognizance.
And what happened to that high school teacher in Colorado whose anti-American rants were recorded by a student?
Well, we all know that plain speech is not a high priority in gov't prisons for children.
I sympathize with her, but can't applaud her methods.
If only she had lashed out against the Joooows, Christians or even Republicans. She could have had a promotion. Everyone knows that islam is the religion of peace and there is going to be trouble if you say otherwise.
If she had just blasted GWB and told her students he was responsible for Sept. 11 all would have been well in the Peoples Republic of Montgomery County.
So, this free speech is just a 1-way street, huh?
Instead of learning how to say "Religion of Peace" (Trade Mark pending) in Arabic, these kids had better start studying calculus. Of course, it is possible that no one in their school knows how to teach calculus.
She deserves a badge of courage. She alone stood against a school system that was teaching young minds that Islam is a religion of peace. Now we all know what happens when we do that. We get dismissed. And when we protest, we get
arrested.
So why was she ARRESTED? Why is the armed power of the police being used to enforce political correctness?
The only good in this that I see, is that it means that at least 2 people in the USA are totally out of patience with the way that things are going.
