I'm curious about the war casualties that are listed at the end -- what constitutes a casualty?

Must include wounded & missing.
If you just count deaths, there's been a total of about 1.3m since the Revolutionary War. About 650,000 on US soil (revolution, 1812, civil), and 650,000 in "foreign wars" (mexican, span-american, etc).
