Failed assassin warns pope of danger
Wash Times / UPI ^ | Sept 19, 2006

The man who shot Pope John Paul II has written Pope Benedict XVI from a Turkish jail cell to warn him he risks assassination if he visits Turkey.

Vatican officials consider Mehmet Ai Agca's letter to be a warning, not a threat, The Times of London reported Tuesday. The pope is scheduled to visit Turkey in November.

"I write as one who knows about these matters very well," Agca said. "Your life is in danger. Don't come to Turkey -- absolutely not!"

Benedict caused an uproar in the Muslim world when he quoted a 14th-century Byzantine emperor who said Islam had produced nothing but evil.

Imagine what the response would be if the Pope is assinated while visiting Turkey? I would imagine even the French would be able to connect the dots. No EU for you Turkey. No more moo slum immigration. Maybe even a resurgent Europe proud of its achievements. Maybe I go too far.

Didn't this guy convert to Christianity after Pope JPII forgave him?

A true Christian will die for the cause of Christ.

If the Islamofascists want to make the Pope a martyr, I doubt that the Pope will resist.

If I wrote a letter to Mehmet Ai Agca warning him not to come to my house, would the international media pick it up and run with it? Would we see the newsworthy headline: "Randog Warns Agca: Stay Away!"...?

I don't see anything wrong with this. That guy obviously knows what's going on, through the prisons or whatever. He writes to the Pope to warn him. I think that is sweet -- kind of a gift after JP2 meeting with him, etc.

I'd sure weigh it heavily. The Muzzies are NUTS. He should not go there.

Just send Jack Bauer along with the Pope when he goes.

Problem solved.

The Pope has been getting death treats by the thousands this week. These death threats are real. Imams have been calling for Pope Benedict's head all over the ME. A radical Islamic fascist was screaming, "The Pope must die" in London. Security has been tightened dramatically. The Polizia Militry are all over the country running down threats. Italian police are using bomb sniffing dogs and metal detectors to screen people visiting the Vatican. Those long lines of tourists may be delayed for hours longer from now on. There are more reports and a photo slide show posted on this site

No.. Eurabia will just roll over, bury its head in the dirt, and surrender.

On another note, and my knowledge of prophecy may be off, but isn't the second to the last Pope supposed to have a short reign? I thought it was to be about 10 years, but could easily be wrong.

I may be way off, but wasn't this Pope also to be of the same order as Benedict came from? If am I off, forgive me, I am trying to remember this from a documentary I saw a while ago.

If this guy is saying that, then Pope Benedict really should go to turkey, the home of Antioch and the Sofia.

Hi All-

That is precisely what I was thinking. How much current information can crackpot Mehmet Ai Agca have while he is cooling his heels in prison? He was a stupid "hitman for the order" and now he is as worthless as a used paper towel to current terrorist leaders. He is not in the circle of influence.

The Pope was telling the truth but he opened up an old wound. The Imams teaching in the UK, U.S., France and the rest of Europe are outraged. All it would take is for a car bomb to go off near St. Peter's Basilica to ignite a major backlash in Europe.
