You forget Texas is normally a one term governor state. Only G.W. Bush has won reelection in it's history.
Not saying Perry will lose, just that statistics are against it.

I'm not forgetting anything. I'm just saying that Perry will win. Nothing negative about Friedman. Perry has a 12-13 point lead over 2 opponents, he has the backing of the GOP, he is the incumbent, and he has the precedent of Jesse Ventura.

In the days when Texas governors had two year terms, Preston Smith and Dolph Briscoe won reelection. Bill Clements served two terms, 1979-83 and 1987-91, which were not consecutive. Rick Perry filled out George Bush's term and won reelection on his own in 2002.
