Muslim protesters Wednesday disrupted a speech by British Home Secretary John Reid as he urged Muslim parents to monitor their children for signs of "radicalisation."
The event, in a community centre in east London, degenerated into chaos when several protesters were led from the room, describing Reid as an "enemy of Islam."
The home secretary, who has a reputation for toughness, had come to the centre in Leytonstone, east London, to urge Muslim parents to watch out for "tell-tale signs of brainwashing" in their children as part of the global fight against terrorism.
One of the protesters was seen clutching several posters saying: "Reid, you will pay."
Sections of the Muslim community have been outraged by Reid's suggestion that parents should "spy" on their children, as they put it.
Reid was listing past terrorist attacks around the world, when the protests began.
A man asked Reid how he could "dare to come to a Muslim area after so many Muslims - over a thousand" - had been arrested.
"You are an enemy of Islam and Muslims," the protester shouted.
"They are going to come in the morning to your house ... they are going to kick your door down when you're in bed with your wife, then drag you from your own bed,", the man shouted before being led away.
Muslims, how can you dare come to the West after your brothers, with your tacit support and approval, have killed so many Westerners?
Now, if it was in the States, and this fellow had the good sense to exersize his 2nd amendment rights he could respond "Go ahead and try!"
If they have the proof you are participating in terrorism, then that's appropriate.
It is 20 years late in rounding up these swine who may have permanently infested England.
Re-read the article ....
I think that was a threat made by the muslim to Reid.
Wet Water.
Hot Fire.
Stinky Poo.
Heck, isn't that a parent's job to begin with? How else are you going to keep them out of trouble?
Me too!
There. Much better.
I read it as a warning from that Muslim to all the other Muslims in the room.
These people are either severely deluded - completely broken away from reality -- or they just simply can't handle the truth about what is going on amongst them. I'm sure that, while Reid didn't say what he said to provoke the Muslims, he surely must have known what reaction he was going to get. Reid, the Pope, others, need to keep talking, because it puts the spotlight on Islamism and the threat it poses.
Thinking Muslims (I'm sure there are some), or Muslims who just love their children more than they love their fanaticism, ought to consider what the response would have been if Reid had made a speech to a general audience about the general hazards that threaten to ensnare young people. Or if he had focused on problems that threaten urban youth. I imagine those parents would have welcomed the remarks, or at least would have considered them food for thougth. I doubt that British Methodists or Catholics or Jews or secularists would have been calling for his head on a platter.
When are people going to 'get' what the "Peaceful Muslims" are out for. I used to think that there were only a handful of radicals, but more and more I am moving toward thinking this religion is ALL messed up. Inside and out. And the ones who ACT peaceful and shocked at what their 'brothers'a re doing are just acting.
Just wait till those silly muzzies start torching cars in London like they did all over France. The Brits are going to do more than "wait and see" which is the Canadian national motto....
And you might be correct. I wish I knew.
