As many as 30 farm workers are hospitalized along with two health care workers at Methodist hospital in South Sacramento. They were accidentally sprayed with an organic phosphate spray while working in an apple orchard on Grant Island in the California Delta. They were working in the orchard when a crop duster sprayed where they were working.

I wonder if these cropdusters also sprayed E. Coli over spinach fields not all that far to the south. /Tinfoil
I am not making light of this story, it sounds terrible. It was just a passing thought.

Doggone organic phosphates! I haven't had a problem like that ever since I inherited my Grand-Dad's drum of DDT...

I was a flagger for a crop duster in about 1950. I also helped load the planes with what ever was in vogue at that time. I remember my dad bringing DDT home for his big vegetable garden. He and mom died at 85...

I hear you talkin! Grampa lived till he was 98, and he had a full head of hair when he went. He looked great!
I thought we'd never get that drum away from him....
We have too many liberals out here, a constantly erupting volcano, anti-war protesters in the streets, pot heads out in the forests, and and a Democrat in the Gubner's Mansion...but what's the one thing we don't have a problem with out here?
'skeeters.....

I used to buy 2-4-T (agent orange) by the 4 gallon case for brush control.
BTW... Thanks for your service to our country...

Oh ya... Why were they spraying a apple orchard this late in the season?

No, it IS a nerve agent!
It is a cousin of sarin.
Most insecticides are nerve agents, just in a weak concentration.

"This stuff is a cousin of nerve gas."
That's why we bombed that Libyan fertilizer factory way back when.

All through the Viet Nam war years Mr. Ditter sprayed 24D and 245T (Agent Orange) on our pastures for weed and brush control. He is 71 now and just fine. My dad had a big (paper) sack of DDT when I was a kid, he sprinkled it around the outside of our house and garage regularly (he died at age 75 of heart failure). We had no termites, roaches or ants.
