I suggest the jump was not to Bush's defense, but to their own. All of a sudden it dawned on the leftist fruitcakes that Chavez and Aminawhackjob sounded just like them. I actually think they're miffed because his ravings are so much more creative than theirs.

Rush was laughing at their objections, as if they haven't said the same things for the last few years.
I do get the point of it being a foreign leader on U.S. soil, at least the non-U.N. presentations, but that's a pretty shallow defense when the guy says them same things you have been.
