A judge who prefers a tutu to a robe is suspect anyway.

Graham's background has made him one of Congress' top legal experts on military law and the senator has backed the Bush administration's stand on dealing with terrorism suspects. That's a big load of....well....you know.....Associated Press.

Huh? Did I miss something? Depends on what the meaning of "backed" is.

now if we could only find some one with the time and resources to put together Dem soundbites to echo Chavez's speech like they did with Bush's speeches on that "Sunday, Bloody Sunday" video. Rove are you listening?

Tom Ravenell of SC says Graham is "the third Senator from New York." Much of South Carolina is praying hard that Mr. Ravenell runs against Graham in 2008. IMHO, Ravenell offers the best hope for dumping Graham.

Nancy and Charlie wet their index fingers, held them out, felt the gale force wind, and decided that they didn't want to be totally destroyed. It's all apolitical ploy, but welcome; in this instance.

I personally believe that it is a conflict of interest for a lawyer to serve as a member of the US House of Representatives or the Senate!

HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY!!!
BTW...I will be 54 on next Wednesday...and I feel BETTER now that I did when I turned 50.
The worst b-day for me, emotionally was my 35th...
For some reason, knowing I was on the downhill side, sliding toward 40 hit me hard..and I was really depressed.
None of them have bothered me much since then...but, I AM sorta dreading the 60th.....but, that is a LONG way off..LOL

The ruling is arrogant idiocy: http://www.armfor.uscourts.gov/opinions/2006Term/05-0260.pdf
The exception is only of civil office, not military.
The court overrides the expressed constitutional powers of congress to appoint officers and the expressed power of the president to command them. In favor of it's own conception of separation of powers.
The judges should be drummed out and imprisoned for maliciously refusing their oath to uphold the Constitution.

And we're all safer for it.
This Military Court deserves a medal for this alone.

Happy early 54th to you Txsleuth!
Thanks for the good wishes. Was hard for me on my 40th more so than this one.
Turned out to be a spectacular day since my girl called from where she is deployed (you know--"southwest asia") to wish me a HB. Now that I talked with her and my two sons, life is GOOD and all this news today has made it even better:)
