Besides the wall that Gorelick built between the CIA and the FBI, there was also the problem with Clinton's continual refusal to ask the Crowned Prince for permission to allow our FBI agents access to the terrorists arrested for the Cole attack. It was well known that Freeh and Clinton did not have a good relationship, and more than likely, Clinton kept putting Louis Freeh's request off so that he could skate through the rest of his term without having to confront any problems. In the end, Freeh finally went to President George H.W. Bush, who did intercede with the Crowned Prince and was able to procure the needed approval.
