The Fox News Channel shakes up its anchor roster a little today, with former WABC/ Ch. 7 correspondent E.D. Hill moving from "Fox & Friends" to the network's "Fox Live" anchor team.
Former CBS News anchor Gretchen Carlson will take Hill's place as a co-host of the freewheeling morning show.
"Gretchen's warm personality and dynamic energy are a perfect fit for 'Fox & Friends,'" Bill Shine, senior vice president of programming, said in a statement.
Also starting today on FNC is "Live Desk With Martha MacCallum" at 1 p.m., replacing "Dayside," and a full hour of news with Jane Skinner at 2 p.m.
p.s. I wish they had given Lauren Green the middle chair.
Is Martha a flaming lib? I never got that feeling. In fact, some of my favorite of her interviews were against Babs Boxer. Martha gave her hell.
She could be a cohost with O'Reilly
I'll miss her too, any idea what time her new show is going to be on?
I know there will be FReepers who celebrate her departure....
Speaking of shake ups at Fox and news anchors, wonder what's happened with Bridget Quinn. Haven't seen her on "Fox News Live" for quite a while.
E.D. was ok...she just seemed to interject herself alot when Brian and Steve were talking...it was irritating...Fox really needs to do something about their weekend show...it's very boring and "yakity"
Well, nuts.
I'd go along with that.
"p.s. I wish they had given Lauren Green the middle chair."
Dittos
Lauren Green is the most unappreciated person on Fox & Friends and I think she would have been perfect in E.D.'s place. She's accomplished, smart and very pretty.
As much as I hate to say it, it probably has something to do with her age, and she is beginning to show her age a bit. No knock on her...with as many kids as she has, I don't know how she manages to look as good as she does. But Fox wants to keep a looker in that middle seat, I believe.
That said, I'm rather saddened. She did get on my nerves at times, but I really enjoyed waking up to those three. You can tell they're genuinely great friends with all their good-natured ribbing of each other.
Gretchen...eh. As others have said, she strikes me as being a bit too stiff and serious for the morning routine. Kind of like the new guy Kelly (Kelley?) on the weekends.
I don't know about ED but I do know the two loons were making too many fluff jokes.
FNC has ONE desperate and serious flaw. It has ZERO competition. NONE zip nada.
If they had competition they would be better.
Forgot to mention, I can't see ED Hill as serious news reader let alone a reporter.
Not terrible, just nothing oooooh aaaaaah.
Brian can be a world class buffoon!
Doocy is funny--ED is just over...
Good. I like Gretchen. She is a lady, and always keeps her poise and dignity, unlike many of the other FOXbabes.
