A Day in the Life of President Bush - (photos) - 9.27.06

Today President Bush traveled to Memphis, Tennessee to attend a campaign fundraiser for Senate Candidate Bob Corker. This evening he is hosting a dinner for Afghanistan's President Hamid Karzai and Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf to focus attention on the need to work together to defeat terrorism, with an emphasis on the shared interests of both leaders. (A few prayers would be in order for wisdom for our President during this dinner, I think......)

It continues to be a good time to support this President, so enjoy your trip to Sanity Island on the Daily Dose!!

Ohio, I find it strange that Blacks have very little loyalty for conservative Blacks.

It seems that if they are conservative...they are just not considered part of The Club.

We get the pictures from Yahoo and the White House website, and yes, we should have pictures that day......at least of the President at the airport, etc.

Would you like a ping from us?

Never. And you know they're used against us, altura.

It's a good thing to never fall for it.

A late good evening. Did you happen to hear Carville and Begala on Fox? Unbelievable! Accused Fox of being in the tank for President Bush, yet had NO specific examples! Complained that the administration is on more on Fox than other channels. HA! Those of us who are aware know that it is the producers who control invitations, and the question is not why the administration appears on Fox, but WHY THEY DON'T GET INVITED ONTO THE OTHER SHOWS!

Young women are either completely naive, or their intentionally seductive, IMO.

Where are these people's mothers??

Or more importantly FATHERS.........to tell them how they should NOT dress??

(It's still weird that this young woman talked about it in church......)

I will never understand that if I live to be 100.

Ken Blackwell should have at least 50% of the black vote in Ohio.

MUST VIEWS . . .

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE

You can watch a great videoclip (featuring AWESOME quotes from the woman who received the President's volunteer award today) at
http://www.wreg.com/Global/category.asp?C=84619 [3rd option from the top]

You can watch a 17 minute video of the President's arrival in Memphis at

[FYI: Memphis is considered Harold Ford's 'home turf' and yet the reporters featured in the clips above were VERY respectful and enthusiastic!]

BUSH AND KARZAI ON THE NIE
Powerlineblog.com

Yesterday, President Bush and Afghanistan's President Karzai gave a press conference at which Jennifer Loven of the Associated Press demanded to know how Bush can say that the Iraq war has made us safer, when the partially-leaked National Intelligence Estimate says the war has fueled jihadism around the world. We quoted Bush's answer, as well as Karzai's contribution, yesterday, and video of Karzai was on Hot Air yesterday, too. But Bush was also excellent, and if you haven't seen it, the video is well worth a look:

MUST READS . . .

WHAT CLINTON DIDN'T DO . . .
. . . . AND WHEN HE DIDN'T DO IT.
By Richard Miniter
Wednesday, September 27, 2006 12:01 a.m. EDT

Bill Clinton's outburst on Fox News was something of a public service, launching a debate about the antiterror policies of his administration. This is important because every George W. Bush policy that arouses the ire of Democrats--the Patriot Act, extraordinary rendition, detention without trial, pre-emptive war--is a departure from his predecessor. Where policies overlap--air attacks on infrastructure, secret presidential orders to kill terrorists, intelligence sharing with allies, freezing bank accounts, using police to arrest terror suspects--there is little friction. The question, then, is whether America should return to Mr. Clinton's policies or soldier on with Mr. Bush's.

It is vital that this debate be honest, but so far this has not been the case. Both Mr. Clinton's outrage at Chris Wallace's questioning and the ABC docudrama "The Path to 9/11" are attempts to polarize the nation's memory. While this divisiveness may be good for Mr. Clinton's reputation, it is ultimately unhealthy for the country. What we need, instead, is a cold-eyed look at what works against terrorists and what does not. The policies of the Clinton and Bush administrations ought to be put to the same iron test.

[The leaker?:]
A PILLAR OF THE ANTI-BUSH ESTABLISHMENT

Michelle Malkin takes a characteristically thorough look at Paul Pillar, the CIA’s national intelligence officer for the Near East and South Asia until just a year ago. There is much speculation that he is the source of the recent NIE leak. This is far from the first time such suspicions have surrounded him.

Pillar served at a high level in the CIA, and has elite educational credentials. Jack Risko of Dinocrat actually read Pillar’s book Negotiating Peace, which was likely at least partly derived from his doctoral dissertation at Princeton, as well as other publications done in a scholarly mode.

Jack drew a picture of a man intellectually committed to the proposition that there is no winning with terrorism. He seems to believe that war is self-defeating. His research examined negotiations as a settlement to conflicts in Korea, Vietnam, and Algeria.

Extra prayers for the coming days, mystery....

Elder son is on a plane right now going to an undisclosed location in a peaceful region, and I feel awful even about that.

I WILL pray. Hang in there!
