Wal-Mart Not Too-Smart
Family Leader ^ | Friday, September 29, 2006 | Maurine Proctor

Posted on 09/29/2006 9:14:41 AM PDT by restornu

We've just begun a serious discussion at our house about whether we will withdraw from shopping at Wal-Mart. They are close by; we spend thousands of dollars there a year; but they have succumbed to pressure and are actively promoting the homosexual agenda and homosexual marriage. Just look at what they are doing in Idaho, where Family Leader is working hard to pass a state marriage protection amendment.

Enough is Enough

Wal-Mart Sponsoring Diversity Week

The following is a report from our friends at the American Family Association. We work in coalition with them on several projects through our Washington D.C. affiliation.

Wal-Mart has given its full endorsement to the homosexual agenda and homosexual marriage. Boise State University in Boise, Idaho, will observe LGBT Diversity Week October 9-13. One of the sponsors for the Diversity Week is Wal-Mart.

Wal-Mart is joining the Pleasure Boutique (an adult bookstore which bills itself as "Idaho's largest selection of adult movies and DVDs and largest adult toy selection in Idaho") and other groups in sponsoring the week. Diversity Week is a week of celebrating homosexuality and promoting the homosexual agenda and homosexual marriage.

Among the events being sponsored by Wal-Mart is Idaho Votes No Campaign Update and Information Workshop. Voters in Idaho will be voting on a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage in November. This Wal-Mart sponsored event will inform voters how to oppose the amendment and how to get others to do so. Wal-Mart is putting their money behind the effort to legalize homosexual marriage.

Other events being sponsored by Wal-Mart: Gay History of Idaho, Diversity in the Workplace, Women's/Lesbian Issues, Hate Based Crimes, Heterosexism, Homosexuality and Disabilities, LGBT Youth in Trouble, MCC-Faith and LGBT, and a youth dance for those age 24 and under.

Wal-Mart is throwing their clout and cash behind the homosexual marriage effort.

Another thing I thought of though is I believe Walmart in Boise just blanketly sponsors Boise State University. You can buy BSU shirts, hats, even doormats at our local Walmarts. I haven't seen other colleges except in the generic clothing section. BSU gets special bins and such.

I don't think that the local Walmart specifically sponsored this event, but instead sponsors BSU as a whole.

You're taking a simplistic, uninformed view of the issue. Think about all the unintended consequences of the gay lifestyle and all the fallout in other areas and the negative impact on others. Think about the recruiting tactics used on teenage boys by gay men. Think about AIDS. Give it some thought.

For crying out loud, what is wrong with people...........

WalMart is a retailer, with an obligation to its stockholders..........nothing more.

"How about not shopping there because their stuff is garbage, the employees are incompetent, and management is rude? "

Because none of that is true?

It's been my experience in the three cities and five neighborhoods I've lived in that Wal-Mart has a unique ability to hire the worst employees. Or maybe they hire average employees and train (or not train, as the case may be) to be terrible.

Umm, what do you think you give them when you write a check???

Oh, puh-lease! You know those silly little numbers at the bottom of each check don't mean anything.

GovernmentShrinker specifically said "government should get out of the marraige business." I take that to mean revoking the rights of traditional monogamous couples.

You're wrong.

Ohhhh! Well, maybe I should reconsider my position of personal liberties! Turns out I was wrong all this time! defenderSD says so! How could I have been so blind?

[end sarcasm]

How about defending your position that government has the right to snoop around in people's bedrooms?

"The civil rights movement was originally fought by M.L. King and others to end discrimination aginst people because of their unalterable physical characteristics: race, skin color, gender, and I think physical handicaps can be included in this catagory."

The precise reason that the gays are able to twist these works to their preferences is because the government got involved at all. The solutions would have been more effective and thorough if it was left to the market and for society to naturally evolve. The involvement of government in "civil rights" areas have led to everyone standing in line with their hands out.

If the end of government-issued/recognized marriage licenses spelled the "end of the traditional Amreican family", it would only be because traditional American families reacted to the change by choosing to dismantle their own families. Somehow I doubt that would happen, but maybe you know better than I do, since you're probably a member of one of those families, and thus are in a position to know that it would disintegrate if the government stopped recognizing your marriage.

And exactly what legal statutes are you referring to? The only ones I can think of are those that allow the government to exercise different controls on your money depending on whether or not it deems you "married".

Marriage between to men or women is an oxymoron. They support something which God calls an abomination.

You're totally misrepresenting what I said. I never said that "government has the right to snoop around in people's bedrooms." I'm only talking about special legal rights.

Think about all the unintended consequences of the gay lifestyle unmarried heterosexual couples and all the fallout in other areas and the negative impact on others.

Time to legislate all sexual activities, I guess. defenderSD should be the first to allow the government into the bedroom. Let's examine his sexual behavior and make sure it's not harming society!!!

You know those silly little numbers at the bottom of each check don't mean anything.

Of course they do! The government uses them to track you! That's why all my checks say "Rusty Shackleford"!

I'm done talking to you. If you don't want to give this issue serious thought, then forget it. I have some work to do. Pease stop fabricating stuff that I never said too.

According to scripture, you, as a Christian, have no responsibility at all for trying to take the world and retrofit it for paradise. The Corinthians mistook something the apostle Paul said in much the same way many do who attempt boycotts of secular companies. Paul had to set them straight in a subsequent letter and in quite forceful terms. And what he went on to tell them to do is something that too many Christians are unwilling to do. Why? It's easierr for folks to organize boycotts of secular companies and call that spirituality than to tell people they know who call themselves believers to change their ways or get out.

You advocate "special legal rights" for heterosexuals.

Marriage.

Wal-Mart Not Too-Smart

Stupid is as stupid does. WAL*MART facts:

WAL-MART had a quarter-trillion dollars in sales last year. What has Family Leader done by comparison, besides play political rope-a-dope games.

If most Americans had to chose between the two, they'd chose WAL*MART in a nano-second.
