ARTICLE SNIPPET: "ANOTHER bomb was found in the province of North Cotabato early Wednesday, according to a GMA Network "Flash Report."

The report said the bomb found at the Makilala municipal hall was similar to the one that exploded in a stall selling alcohol Tuesday night, killing at least six people and wounding 29 others.

The prompt discovery by authorities prevented what could have been another explosion, the report said."

ARTICLE SNIPPET: ""We suspect that the explosions were made by groups sympathetic to Dulmatin. A second motive is that they could have been sympathetic attacks over the arrest of Dulmatin’s wife," Calderon said in a phone interview on the morning newscast of GMA Network's "Unang Hirit" on Wednesday.

Calderon said the hunt was ongoing for Dulmatin and another JI comrade Umar Patek."

Police say bombing kills at least 6 in southern Philippines

October 10, 2006

MANILA, Philippines At least six people died and another 29 were wounded in a bomb explosion during a town festival in the southern Philippines, where security forces have been on alert for possible al-Qaida-inspired attacks, officials said.

North Cotabato provincial Police Chief Federico Dulay said the bomb, believed to be made from an 88mm mortar shell, went off at about 8 p.m. (1200 GMT) Tuesday in front of the town hall of Makilala town, in the southern part of the province.

"Clearly this is a terrorist act," Dulay said.

"We believe that terrorists are in the final stages of planning further attacks," said the British advisory, posted on the embassy's Web site.
