He looks like one. But his problems are deeper than that.
Yeah, it sounds like this is the groundwork for his defense.
Many alcoholics and drug addicts usually have at least 2 other addictions either sitting down waiting or active on the 'sidelines'. Getting sober is a first step, but in his case, he clearly also has sex addiction problems as well.
