'So now instead of having the majority of workers who care about customer service and how it impacts their potential future with the company, we now have to deal with more and more untrained monkeys who curse under their breath if you ask them where something in the store is located.'

Exactly, I will be across the street at Target shopping, thank you very much!

I rarely go to Walmart for one basic reason.

I hate lines.

Target seems to hate them too.

Wallyworld is either indifferent or loves them.

I'll see you there!

I have found that the local Target store has prices that are competitive with Walmart and better quality merchandise. Also the Meijer store.

You are DREAMING if you think that Target (and any other large retail store) doesn't have the exact same practices and wages as Wal-Mart.

I started out working for Marshall Field... worked various aspects of retail .. and it's been the same deal since 1976 when I entered the workforce ... hire as many part-timers as you can to "fill the gap" ... run 'em w/no insurance ... just above minimum wage. (And I was at one of the better enterprises... )

Everyone acts as though this is "news" when Wal-marts practices are reported ... and it's been that way for a VERY long time.
