The limo driver died, the drunk driver lived...should have been the other way around.

You said -- "The limo driver died, the drunk driver lived...should have been the other way around."

Yeah..., but it seems they get off pretty easy in that condition (for some reason).

I've been close to two head-ons (one on the freeway and the other on a state highway), both by drunk drivers.

One was in West Texas, on the open highway and the other was in Portland, Oregon. The one in Texas smacked a camper truck head-on, just in front of me. I thought it was going to end up smacking me, too -- but stopped about 20 feet in front of me, sliding on its side. Fortunately, everyone walked out of that one, even though they were traveling at highway speeds.

Just before that happened, I saw it coming and hollered to everyone in the car -- "Watch out! A head-on!" I slammed on my brakes, stopped and saw that the camper rig was sliding pretty fast towards me (on its side) and I had already put the car in reverse and was just about to back up, when it stopped just in front of me.

The other one in Portland, the drunk driver just missed smacking a car in front of me head on (only clipping the front headlight and breaking it), and then smacked into the guardrail (on the freeway, going the wrong way). Again, he stopped before he got to me, fortunately.

The one in Portland, I stuck around until the state patrol got there and the guy could barely stand up. They asked for his drivers license, as he was wavering around, trying to stand still -- and it took him a good five minutes to get his wallet out of his back pocket. If it wasn't such a serious situation, it would have been hilarious watching him trying to get that wallet out of his pocket.

With all the miles I've driven I've seen a lot of accidents happening right in front of me. Fortunately I've managed to stay out of them (by the grace of God)....
