Another attack on Allen but I have no idea whether it's important or potentially damaging.

I think they blew it. They threw so much slime at him people are just tuning this noise out now. They might of gotten away with it if they had went with this and left all the race baiting out of it. Now it just more wacko posturing from the Webbies.

If you don't think there is any MSM bias, just take a look at this race. Every day there is something about Allen coming out no matter how inane. Yet Webb is squeaky clean.
This is complete and utter BS. I live in Texas and I'm pissed. I'd be dead if I lived in Virginia.

They are out there investigating the dem just as hard. Not.

Boy, Allen must really be a threat. Every single day they dish out more dirt on him. Makes me think I'd better vote for him.

It's not important. The stock options are nearly worthless and worth well below the original value. This is another Democratic sleaze machine attack story with no there, there.

This race is over. Allen by 12.
To: Gone GF
well all things considered, Allen said he paid more for the stock than what was current value, and was therefore no violation.....

An attack it is. If it has any factual basis, that's on Allen. If it is fact based, and if those facts come out prior to the election, it may not affect Allen's election bid, but when combined with the Foley mess, it can drag down Republicans elsewhere in the nation. I'm particularly ticked because California Lt. Governor candidate Tom McClintock could lose his race because of this drag on his party. This isn't about one senatorial race, or a single house seat in Florida.
The Republican Party would do very well to establish their own party ethics arm within their party to keep a constant vigilant eye on their candidates and office holders. Set them on the straight and narrow road when necessary, and weed them out of the party when necessary. Waiting for their opposition, the MSM, a Congressional ethics investigation, or rumor to expose problems is just plain stupid. It's akin to parents that offer up the defense they had no idea what their child was doing in preparation of a crime within their own house. If there are Republicans violating law or ethics, the Party needs to take them to the shed for a whipping, out of sight of prying eyes, or publicly dump them and promote another candidate that makes the grade.

They really are concerned about Allen. Wonder why? Gee, they are "going to win the senate," so this seat shouldn't matter that much.

I have reached a point where I consider any negative report in the DBM about a Republican to be false until conclusively proven otherwise. They have lied way to many times to be taken at face value anymore.

Obeying the rules only apply to Republicans. Breaking the rules only applies to Democrats.

The AP story is mostly bogus.
Allen had some stock options in companies from when he was a private citizen serving on their boards. In 2000, he filed as part of his senate run I guess. His amended 2000 filing showed all the stock options -- most of which were worthless, but one had a value at that time of about $2000 DOLLARS total. It then became worthless as well.
IN fact, the options are in a company that has been delisted.
Anyway, after 2000 the senate ethics panel said Allen didn't need to report options if they were worthless. Also, the form used to report said you didn't have to report worthless options.
But it turns out the ethics RULES say you should, in case they ever turn around and have value. This is the first Allen heard of this, but he is amending his 2001-2006 to show he owns some worthless stock options in a company that is delisted and likely to disband.
As to the "asking the army to help" -- he sent a form letter to the Army asking them to provide an ANSWER to the company. The Army answer wasn't a good answer for the company, but Allen did nothing more -- so it is false to say he "helped" them, in any way other than performing a constituent service of getting government to respond.
There's no there there, it's just some silly technical stuff.
BTW, some reports say the 3 companies he had stock options in (because he served on their board) were companies he "aided" as governor -- but that is also false.

The Commies down at the DNC have got to be staying awake all night trying to come up with ways to get this seat.

They're drumming up another scandal I see. Funny how we don't hear much in the national news about Menendez.
To: Gone GF
Well, considering he recieved them BEFORE entering the Senate, reported them then, even though he had recieved them PRIOR to being elected.
More smoke and mirrors from the Dims
