Debate is a necessary exercise for the electorate to witness, not debating almost seems unAmerican, or maybe it's just me.

I agree. Then I keep asking myself why The Beast has never debated anyone (that I know of) in the past?

I saw Hillary's debate with Rick Lazio when they ran for NY Senator in 2000. I thought she was bland and overprepared. Lazio took it to her and we were cheering him on. Unfortunately, he marched over to her podium to hand her an agreement to sign about the banning of soft money. This was perceived by many as an unfair macho move on his part, and his numbers declined thereafter.

She's going to be debating her current opponent, John Spencer, in Rochester on Oct. 20. So far, I think it will be an extremely limited viewing audience.
