NORCROSS, Ga. (AP) _ Gwinnett County police have arrested a high school teacher on charges that she had sex with her 17-year-old student. Police spokesman Corporal Darren Moloney says officers arrested 33-year-old Angela Christine Coffey of Lilburn -- a teacher at Meadowcreek High School in Norcross -- on Friday. Jail records show she bonded out of jail on Saturday.
School district spokeswoman Sloan Roach says Coffey resigned Monday. She taught English to students who speak other languages.
Roach says Coffey had taught at the high school since August 2004. She also taught social studies at Sweetwater Middle School from August 2002 through May 2003.
Moloney says the sexual contact occurred over six months, from March to August.
Moloney says police arrested Coffey the same day an investigation started -- not long after receiving information about the alleged inappropriate sexual contact. He says investigators do NOT believe she had similar sexual contact with other students.
Roach says the district will submit a report to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, which oversees the certification, recruitment and professional discipline of educators.

Back on topic... I think the 'rule of thumb' should be, if someone is young enough to have been your child, than you shouldn't have sex with them. IMHO, of course.
I'm referring to the 17 yr old that looks 28. Sure didnt want to cast any disparaging remarks to the South.

Everyone knows this behavior occurs as the result of Bush cutting education funding. If teachers were paid more, they could afford professional sex workers and the trips to Hamburg and Nevada to find them.
Furthermore, unless the teacher is a registered Republican, there is no victim, rather a young person who has been given an unusual opportunity for personal growth. Just like Gerry Studds offered countless young fellows, not to mention Barney Frank. It's similar to what Bill Clinton offered many young women.
