As long as the Constitution is not amended we all have the right to bear arms. That is all the permit you need if you are a law-abiding American born in this country.

Illegal Aliens, for example, cannot bear arms because not being citizens they have no protection under the U.S.Constitution, no non-citizen does.

Of course you are right...but try openly bearing arms in Illinois...the legislation passed there is draconian (as it is in several of the states, and despite the violation of the constitution, you will be jailed or worse if you disobey them. That's another reason I live in Idaho.

That's why I say to fight all such legislation tooth and nail if you want to be best prepared for islamic terrorists, or other invaders or criminals.
