Who hates whom in America?
If the latest FBI hate-crime statistics are any indication, of the 1,314 verified offenses motivated by religious bias, 68.5 percent were anti-Jewish.
Only 11.1 percent were anti-Islamic, despite claims of rampant anti-Muslim bigotry in the U.S. by groups like the Council on American Islamic Relations.
Across the board, hate crimes in the U.S. dropped last year by 6 percent, according to the 2005 FBI report release last week, although violence against people based on their race accounted more than half of the reported incidents.
Police nationwide reported 7,163 hate crime incidents in 2005, targeting victims based on their race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation and disabilities. That was down from 2004, when the FBI reported 7,649 incidents.
The vast majority of hate crimes in both years were motivated by race, according the reports, which detailed the data based on so-called "single-bias" incidents. That means the crime was motivated by only one kind of bias against the victim, according to the FBI.
Race-based criminal activity accounted for 54.7 percent of hate crimes last year, up slightly from 52.9 percent in 2004, the FBI found.
Another 17 percent of hate crimes in 2005 targeted victims for their religious beliefs, and 14.2 percent for their sexual orientation.
Victims were assaulted in more than half – 50.7 percent – of the hate crime cases against people. Six people were murdered and another three were raped in reported hate crimes last year. The rest of the victims, or 48.9 percent, were intimidated, the report shows. The FBI also looked at hate crime incidents that targeted property, with 81.3 percent of cases resulting in damage, destruction or vandalism.
Sixty percent of the known offenders in 2005 were white, and 20 percent were black, the report showed.
The data was collected from police agencies across the country, representing city, county, state, tribal and federal law enforcement agencies.
Compared to the stuff European Jews have to put up with these days this is nothing. Mostly clueless teens spray painting swastikas.
Who is the other twenty percent? It can't be unknown, because this is percentages of known offenders. Is some particular group committing crimes WAY out of proportion to their percentage of the population?

I agree and I also think that even that is uncalled for, BUT it pays to look at who is doing it. You will find those on the left, not the right, doing all the anti Jewish bashing.

Robbing Peter to pay Paul may be seen by Paul as a lovely thing. Socialism is exactly that, and the proponents swear that their motives are born out of the love of mankind.
In cases like grafitti, perhaps it could be assumed. But the majority of the crimes in the FBI report are either intimidation or assaults. Either it's an element of the crime, intimidation, or the perp admits it. I'd agree that in most cases the definition of a "hate crime" is ludicrous. Assault is a serious crime, period. There's probably some role in sentencing.
Race was probably not recorded in the arrest report for the 12.3% unknown.
I didn't see any swastikas on cars yesterday, or the Muslim symbol with an X over it, but I did see a Christian religious symbol (the fish) with feet on it and the word Darwin inside it.
The car was driven by a white woman about 60, I didn't know who to notify.
Hate crimes against Jews don't count. It's like black on white racism, it doesn't exist.
Oh, so the "it's not a problem" denials won't work any more? Other obfuscations will, I'm sure. For example, they were all drunk, and that's what poor religious victims of the wild partying disease do.
These folks have too much time on their hands. I could have said that for a whole lot less $$.

There are a variety of hate symbols for cars that use the fish, I've never seen one incorporate Jewish or Muslim symbols.
Why do you assume the "Darwin Fish" is a "hate symbol"? Many use it as an indication of their belief in compatibility, as opposed to hostility, between science and Christianity.
Funny, I never ran into anyone using the bastardized Christian symbol on the back of their car that didn't mean it as an insult to Christians.
In my 16 years in Ocean Beach, a little community known as the Haight Ashbury of San Diego, I had the chance to speak to the owners of many of the cars that have the symbols they were all anti Christians that I met.
