Probably did not notify Malki for fear his people would warn the militia of the impending attack and whomever was the target for the raid would dissappear.

I don't think the earlier story had the Iraqi politico saying "They fired bombs at houses that killed innocent women and children," and that instead of going in and arresting the bad guys, the attackers acted "as if we are in a war zone."

Sadr isn't the target me thinks. We are just sending a message. But there needs to come a time when we take him out. Yes it will cause a big uprising, but we will just need to kill those that get out of line until it dies over. It seems that everyone but our Military and GWB have gotten the message that the only think these people understand is brute force. After Nov 7th, providing repubs hold the House, it's time to kick some.GWB can't leave this for the next President.

Correction, the military have known that, it is the 'decision makers', both political and military that don't want to upset a broken apple cart.

Same thing I've been posting for three years now: It's time to make fat boy Sadr disappear. Not killed in battle, just disappeared. Maybe down in a rathole to hang with the 12th imam.

This seems to be a historical mistake by Pres Bush. At least Lincoln fired non-productive generals. We need generals that will fight. Unless of course, it is Bush who is tying our military up in this posture.....

Kill him and you'll see him adorning velvet paintings on the streets of every Shiite dominated region. He will graduate from Shia Pet to Shia Martyr.
Intern.Indoctrinate.Conscript.
Kind of like the way Saddam did it.

And he'll be handsome on those velvet paintings. That's the real injustice. Do we want to make this ugly rat a handsome martyr?

Kill him and you'll see him adorning velvet paintings on the streets of every Shiite dominated region. He will graduate from Shia Pet to Shia Martyr. That's why I want him to be disappeared instead. If he just vanishes, with no clear indication of what happened to him, instead of a martyr he's the Iraqi Jimmy Hoffa.
To: kinghorse
If we would capture Sadr and put him in jail, we could simply sit and wait on these fiends of Sadr's to show themselves, and pick them off as they show.

Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki disavowed the operation, saying he had not been consulted and insisting "that it will not be repeated."
Oh, yes it will, and you'd better grow a set and stop kissing Sadr's @ss, Maliki, or you'll be looking for another job.

Al-Maliki must go! Did you listen to the President's speech this morning? Al-Maliki has only been on office five months, what do you expect really? It's going to take time. I agree with the President as long as Al-Maliki continues to make tough decisions we are going to support him. Plus what choice do we have? He was democratically elected. The Iraqis will get rid of him if he is ineffective. They like strong leadership.
