There is plenty of challenge in Academia for the Theory of Evolution, not the basic theory itself, because it has been pretty well as proven as it can be, it happened.

The specifics are what are being debated now, and they are debated very thoroughly and in some cases very hotly.

The DNA evidence has become overwhelming, but there are a few mysteries still to be solved, there are more and older fossils coming in, and where they fit is also hotly debated.

The Theory of Evolution itself is beyond debate, the specifics are what are being questioned, and will be for some time, as new evidence comes to light.

That's funny since I see a LOT of debate within the great unwashed. Ya'll may be leading but who is following? If evolutionists are limiting their science to the process between "creation" and death then there is a gaping hole in potential knowledge. Today's evolutionists are using brute force through the courts and schools to validate their view of this issue. That is a sure sign of insecurity in their own ability to educate those that come to their classes with strongly held beliefs.
