I think that one is contained, have to listen to the scanner again.
Thank you for that knowledge, KK. I appreciate knowing that, as I cannot imagine the agony. And I cannot comprehend inflicting that upon someone.
*Sigh*
God bless our hero firemen. We commend the souls of the fallen to Thee, O Lord.
The Riverside County dump/landfill is on Lambs Canyon. My stepdad works there. Must make phone calls. Just woke up..
Been away from TV for a few hours; thanks for an update if you have one.
KTTV was doing a great job this morning, as well as KTLA.
Please, God, send rain.
What is worse, newzjunkey, is that angelides got some so-called firefighters to stand up and parrot his lies.
Yesterday. On TV.

I watched about ten minutes of video from the CBS2 helicopter orbiting the crime scene, so I got a really good chance to look at the surroundings. It looks like a worst-case position. They were trying to save a trailer located right at the top of a ridge. There's a small road next to it, then an entire hillside of heavy brush just across the road. They had the engine parked facing out, but it looks like they just got overrun by the fire making a quick charge up that hillside. There's little to no indication of any fuel clearance being done near the trailer, and... frankly... I don't think I'd have tried to defend it. Too much fuel, lousy geography, they probably should have blown it off. But... they figured it was their job...

CA: Southern California Fires still burning ~ offshore winds continue
Hi,
I live in Poppet Flats and running off a generator. Looks like we are out of danger for the time being. I hope they open 243 soon both ways. Listening to the scanner and CDF is very optimistic and releasing many units to go further South and West.
I just watched the coverage from overhead for half an hour or so. The smoke column's going straight up, indicating the wind's dying down. I'm seeing a lot of white smoke, which is a good sign. It also looks like the air tankers are working on your side. I'd guess 243'll be available to you by tomorrow, though there's probably close to a week's worth of work to do before they get done.
Most of the excitement looks like it's over on the west side, and it's primarily a backfiring operation along 79.
Let's keep fingers crossed that the wind stays down.
That's an extension of 24 hours, isn't it? :(
I'm very glad to hear that. Take care!
Hi to All, I live in Poppet Flats for 16 years.Last night was very long & scarey. We have no power or phones as of this time.We watched as the very brave & skilled Fire firefgters protected this valley. We stayed up most of the night with fire all around our valley.I am glad I have a generater & hughes.net.It hard to be here not be able to leave & then return. If you leave you can't come back.We have 4 dogs & 2 birds. We are very upset to say the least.Who ever started this fire is 1 sick person to teerorise so many people. We are still watching to see when it will be finally safe.Prayers are needed.
