How is telling the truth and exposing political lies makes one a bully? You have been Oprahfied.

Thanks for the insult. I tried to explain it. If you believe that Rush did the right thing here, and that it will further the conservative cause, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. Right now, people should be talking about what MJF said in the ad, not what Rush said about MJF.

Rush was right on target - AGAIN.

Yes, that Limbaugh knows a lot about drugs.

Oh being Oprahfied is an "insult" now.

It ain't an insult, but an apt description of your position.

They're discussing this now again on Hannity and Colmes. It just fries me for ANYONE to say that Jim Talent doesn't care about helping ANYONE in need. I know Jim personally, and he is an unwaiveringly caring and giving man TO THE BONE.

Truth wins out on this as Dick Morris' prediction of a bungling big backblow is now bearing out. Thankfully.

' I'd really be surprised if he was able to supress all of his symptoms at this point in the disease though. "

A poster at the blog hotair.com said this-

" A few weeks ago Michael J.
Fox was on an episode of Boston Legal. None of the tremors etc that we see in this clip showed up at all."

I agree completely- On Boston Legal , Fox looked like he was in remission or his medications and surgery were giving him great relief.
He had a romance with one of the leading ladies . His character never appeared disabled in any way- despite his terminal lung cancer.
His character on Scrubs was so hyper , that truthfully, it was hard to watch-especially knowing Fox's history.
But, again- just real hyper and fast talking, not, dyskinetic.
If Claire McCaskill had any class , she would have viewed the ad and told Fox that she would wait until he was more comfortable and they would try again.
McCaskill must have been really desperate to exploit Fox's illness in such a shabby way.

I understand your concerns but I think that Rush would have been criticized however he handled the FOX commercial. The media would have spring boarded any Rush comment into what we see now, only they would have had the advantage of being the first out of the gate to frame the discussion. Which of course would start by demonizing Rush. It is because of Rush addressing the matter that all the media are pouncing on it and voters are getting an education about the exact nature of embryonic stem cell research. The time has come for Republicans to break through the barrier of the RAT protected province of useful victimology. It is, as the saying goes, a dirty job, but somebody had to do it. And that somebody is Rush. Bless his heart and thank God for his brain.

That's ceratinly possible. But Rush still shouldn't be providing bullets for the media to shoot at him...

It was worse than that. He said, ""He is exaggerating the effects of the disease," "He's moving all around and shaking, and it's purely an act…This is really shameless of Michael J. Fox."

Rush has talked about Fox almost non-stop for four days now, and he's said much, much, much more than that. But because that's the sound byte that makes him sound the most cruel, that's the one that is played and cited by the MSM over and over and over and over.

I could tell he had Parkinsons in Spin City. They apparently managed to shoot around his disease or cover it up somehow since that would obviously distract from the plot. Also, symptoms differ depending on what phas.e of the medications one is on. I still stand by my statement that I'd really be surprised if he was able to supress all of his symptoms at this point in the disease. Some symptoms, for a short while, perhaps. But that's about as far as medical science has gotten with Parkinson's.

Yup. This is my main point (obliterated in the melee). We should be talking about MJF's ad, not about Rush talking about MJF. Is the MSM to blame? Sure. Should Rush have known better? Sure.

" I still stand by my statement that I'd really be surprised if he was able to supress all of his symptoms at this point in the disease. "

But, you haven't seen Boston Legal and we have.
Fox was asymptomatic during the scenes we viewers, including Rush, saw.

Yes, that Limbaugh knows a lot about drugs.

Yes, and Rush knows a lot about lying liberals. And liberals HATE it! Dont-cha-know!

Maybe I'm just sensitized, but I see all sorts of involuntary movements from Fox. Also, notice that he is never in a continuous shot for more than a few seconds at a time. I'm guessing many takes and heavy editing... I have trouble believing that anyone could watch Fox and not see something is wrong with him...

My boyfriend was diagnosed with Parkinson's in his early 40's. He had the disease for 12 years before he eventually died of an (allegedly unrelated) brain tumor. His whole life revolved around his routine for taking his meds -- trying to figure out how he could be mobile and relatively normal long enough to get back home before the symptoms worsened. There were times when it didn't work -- once we were stuck on a subway platform late at night and he basically couldn't walk or move.

He was a rugged looking, athletic guy otherwise. Strangers assumed he was drunk or somehow acting out and could be very hostile for no reason that I could see.

I became so familiar with the symptoms that I could recognize Parkinson's even before the individual knew what he had. (A dubious talent -- you can't go around telling strangers to get to a neurologist.) Janet Reno for example had that set of her jaw, sometimes called a mask, that is often an early indicator. If you look at old film of Fox you can see that way back he had a habit of flexing his jaw muscles, as if to loosen them up.

There may be new treatments for this disease in the near future, but so far embryonic stem cells have been a dead end, and I think Fox has been misled about their promise.

" I have trouble believing that anyone could watch Fox and not see something is wrong with him..."

Thanks for the YouTube link.
Fox looks great- drinking beer and high fiving his girl friend.
No dyskinesia, no spasmodic movements.
Nothing like his McCaskill ad.
