Conservatives must see 2006 for what it truly is: the opportunity of a decade. By beating the MSM and Democrat created odds and hype, conservatives can further heap coals on liberal heads. But more than that, they can pierce leftist Democrats’ most valuable political asset...

You watch Brit Hume's segment on ACORN and their fraudulent voter registration racket? I sure hope they are watching who votes and how often.

They had a representative from ACORN, who must think the viewers were nuts cause she claimed there might have been some mistakes but noting intentional.

We're are conservatives. We vote early. We hold our nose and vote Republican. We vote in every election.

But we never vote often. That's Dem territory.

Any conservative who doesn't vote will regret it when the Liberals begin to do even more harm to the country if they get control. Who would President Bush be able to nominate for the Supreme Court and get approved in the Senate? How much funding would the Democrats give to fence between Mexico and the US? How would Democrats vote on partial birth abortions? If you're frustrated with the Republicans in control of congress, you'll be pulling your hair out if the Democrats gain control. And if you don't vote, you will not have helped to prevent it. If Congressman Foley's instant messages upset you so much that you won't vote, think of how the Democrats will erode family values in a way that will do far more harm than the disgusting behavior of the former Congressman Foley.

2006: Chance of a Lifetime…for the GOP!

With liberal midterm election Republican doom mongers forecasting conservative extinction, the banal hand writing, trembling, and whining emanating from conservatives and Republicans have reached critical mass. But the simple fact is this: in three weeks, the American conservative movement will have the single best opportunity to advance its agenda in over a decade.

That’s not a misprint. Go back and read it again. I said “advance” and “opportunity.”

James Carville is correct (hey, even a broken clock is right two times a day): “If we [Democrats] can’t win in this environment, we have to question the whole premise of the party.”

Salivating at the prospects of a massive Republican defeat and a Democratic takeover, the liberal mainstream media have inflated voter expectations to near record levels. Whereas in 1994 the MSM worked to tamp down the prospects of a Republican Revolution, today they are spitting out GOP gloom and doom scenarios at warp speed. And for once, every conservative and Republican should thank them for doing so. By setting the Democratic bar for success so high, the conservative movement has been given the opportunity of a lifetime, a chance to demoralize and dismiss much of the Democratic Party’s liberal agenda.

What if, despite four years of negative coverage of the War on Terror (remember Eason Jordan, Peter Arnett, the Newsweek “Koran flushing massacre, doctored “news” photos…?), despite the recent “stink bomb” scandals, despite Jack Abramoff, and despite the embarrassingly over hyped “Plamegate” debacle, what if liberals still were unable to upend the conservative Republican march toward generational electoral dominance?

What then?

If that happens, if conservatives and Republicans come to their senses and consider the consequences of what a Speaker Nancy Pelosi would mean for America, both domestically and with the foreign threats that abound, conservatives and Republicans will realize that the 2006 midterm congressional elections represent a golden opportunity, a chance to land a devastating ideological blow to the leftist agenda that dominates today’s Democratic Party. As Sun Tzu put it: “To win one hundred victories in one hundred battles in not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill.”

Still, even if Democrats take back control of the Congress it will not be because of a popular mandate. Voters will not be endorsing liberalism qua liberalism. No, they will be demonstrating their levels of so-called Bush fatigue; voters will be showing that they are frustrated that history has bequeathed unto us the daunting and tiresome task of doing the heavy lifting of history that a post-9-11 world now demands—and will continue to demand—for years to come. Moreover, if conservatives stay home it will be out of frustration that Republicans haven’t been conservative enough. But illegal immigration, excessive spending, and the successful prosecution of the War on Terror will only grow worse if limousine liberals like Nancy “I’m pro-union but don’t allow my own employees to unionize” Pelosi glide into the Speaker’s office.

Conservatives must see 2006 for what it truly is: the opportunity of a decade. By beating the MSM and Democrat created odds and hype, conservatives can further heap coals on liberal heads. But more than that, they can pierce leftist Democrats’ most valuable political asset: hope for their cause.

"ALREADY screaming foul"

Of course, ACORN will again get off scott free after illegal registrations are being turned in.
