Congress has not been an ally of those who favor common-sense gun legislation, Mr. Daley said. This from the man who when asked about a proposed ban on cell phones in cars said, "Well I think everybody should keep at least two hands on the wheel."

'The Mayors Against Illegal Guns Coalition' Does this imply that if your mayor isn't part of this coalition, that your mayor is FOR illegal guns?

It's a little odd that around here, down in Florida, there just ain't no big cities calling for more gun control. In fact, concealed-carry is well established, and allowed firearm usage in self-defence has been expanded!
Kinda makes sense..........FRegards

Bloomberg won't even run. It would be a joke if he did.

Please, Mr. Daley, with all of Chicago's great gun control laws, explain to me why Chicago's crime statistics are so dismal?

the gun lobby does not speak for the vast majority of Americans, including those who own their own guns, Mr. Daley said. Of all the stupid things Mr. Daley has said in the past, this is one of the stupidest.

Has Bloomberg endorsed Tom Kean Jr. in New Jersey??
Does he ever endorse Republicans?

Excellent idea; go for it.

NRA: The world's OLDEST, and the world's LARGEST Civil Rights organization - dedicated exclusicvely to putting our Second Amendment FIRST! You can take THAT to the bank.

Bloomy is an insignificant tic-turd. A life-long Democrat, he became a "Republican" in the post 9-11 era to capitalize on Mayor Guiliani's popularity. Bloomy is an ass-bag and not likely to get Dems around here to vote for him, much less Republicans.

"Bloomberg won't even run. It would be a joke if he did".
It is disgusting that he is allowed to call himself a Republican, in the first place. It makes a mockery out of the idea that principles are involved, in any way. With just a few more Foleys and Bloombergs, we sure won't need any liberals.

I agree. I support many of the less-conservative Republicans, but Bloomberg is way over the top. I can think of a few democrats who I would vote for before I voted for Bloomberg. With that said, I cannot even imagine him trying to get the nomination.

Imagine where the party might be today, had not some of us refused to compromise!
Don't know about anyone else, but, I'm still refusing!
A liberal is a liberal, no matter what they call themselves, ____ them, and the horse they rode in on!

Mr. Bloomberg, the NRA certainly speaks for me.
For that matter, I think that we should repeal the 1968 GCA and the 1934 NFA.
