"Of course I don't condone frivolous use of a taser, but I need more info on this case."

These are the talking points supporting deadly force. There is no more info to be garnered that will change the result, nor like in many other wrongful uses, have we later discovered justification. And like the many other wrongful deaths involving the taser, there is no excuse to be brought forward in this case that will justify the actions taken.

This kid was bi-polar with a behavior disorder. There is no excuse not now not ever for this use of excessive force resulting in the death of this teenager.

I look forward to you proving me wrong with more info. Others said the same thing in other cases.

Declaring the victim as bi-polar is about as likely to be correct as declaring the victim as being on PCP.

On the face of this I do agree that there is no excuse for using excessive force, but as I had stated earlier, the LEOs are under the false impression that stun guns are safe and therefore are less restrained in there use.

I also stated that the officers involved are most likely heartsick over the death of this young man as it was certainly not what they were trying to accomplish.

When stun guns were first introduced, they were billed as an alternative to deadly force, unfortunately they are being used as an alternative to conventional non deadly force by lots of departments.

As an after thought, I should add that before it is determined if the victim suffered a mental illness or if he was on drugs, I suppose the first question should be to determined if clutching a Bible and yelling I want Jesus is breaking any laws. Media sources commit crimes of omission quite often and in this case the story leads you to believe that the Officers involved have engaged this victim simply for this reason which may well be the case but possibly, there is more to the story.
