IF (and I don't believe it is) it was a mistake of Kerry by not reading his whole script...then he WOULD have come out right away and said that he DID goof...and give us the EXACT text of his speech, right??
Not only did he not do that...he sent out a statement that was just the opposite...and then compounded that by making a live statement that dug himself a deeper hole!
NO WAY could he have mis-read his speech....it is a speech that was "written" after this debacle happened..IMHO
I concur - and if it *was* a botched joke or swipe at the President's policies, the original statement is STILL an insult to people who serve in the military. That alone merited an apology, and for Kerry to pointedly refuse to apologize to ANYONE is a horrific mistake. Were he smart, he would've issued a profound apology to the troops - *then* gone into his spin with regard to what he "really meant".
Such an example of arrogance. Kerry should've had someone standing beside him up at the podium, whispering "Remember, thou art mortal!" in his ear.
I'm thinking no .. he did leave out those 2 words, designed to be a rotten attack on W, especially after Chrissy's comments about reading the entire speech.
He left out "getting us" before stuck in Iraq. It's up thread .. what it was supposed to say.
