Ok..I've been out of the loop- just got a phone call from my son (telling me how many college GRADUATES he served with in Iraq) and then turned on FOX. I heard what I THINK was an explanation from Kerry...he was making a JOKE about the PRESIDENT'S lack of education in making Iraq decisions...
Anyone else hear that?

That's what he INTENDED .... "mysterious forces" made him leave out 2 words, so that what he said was: "study hard or you'll be stuck in Iraq." The inference of what he actually said being: you'll end up in the military if you don't work hard and have another job direction. Either statement: Inflammatory and DUMB! I say thank the Lord for this screw-up. Talk about unintended consequences.
Yes, Kerry is trying to say he was making a joke about the president's failed policy. If that's what he was trying to do, he should have just held a press conference saying it was a joke and he mis-spoke. End of subject.
