Mike Hatchs aggressive reputation showed through Thursday for one of the few times in this years heated gubernatorial race.
Hatch lashed out at Gov. Tim Pawlenty and Republicans for attacking his running mate, Judi Dutcher, over a recent incident in which the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party lieutenant governor candidate appeared to know nothing about E-85 ethanol.
This governor is afraid to debate me on issues, said Hatch, the current attorney general who recent polls show is narrowly leading Pawlenty in the governors race. He wants to beat up on a woman.
Hatchs anger overflowed during a Thursday morning telephone interview.
A Forum Communications reporter asked Hatch about Dutchers knowledge of ethanol and why she wasnt available to discuss the issue. Hatch abruptly ended the interview with: Youre nothing more than a Republican whore. Goodbye. He then hung up.

"It should not be expected that a candidate for Lieutenant Governor who has served the past four years in the private sector, know all the issues."
Exactly. And just how hot-headed do you have to be when you have so little self-control that you can't stop yourself from calling a REPORTER a whore? How stupid!
This is hilarious. Been laughing since I heard it! Minnesota politics is a hoot this year!
BTW, the ads against Patty Wetterling even have me cracking up. Notice how tauntingly they say her name - "Patty Wetterling, she just doesn't get it..."
Running for office in Minnesota and not knowing what E85 is is like running for office in Massachussetts and not knowing what Botox is.
Desperation, thy name is 'Mike Hatch.'
Another angry, undisciplined liberal.
And it appears his daughters are a chip off the ol' block.
I hope ol' Mike does this a few more times. Show everyone the true colors of this self annointed 'blue collar' representative of the underdog (BTW, why is it that every lib picks up on that tired mantra???).
You should see the heat I took for my post yesterday, "Desperation, thy name is 'Santorum.'" :-)
I sent this on to the good folks at RCP.
I want TV ads on this. It squares with Hatch's known nasty personality and is an insult to what is termed "Minnesota nice" in this state.
Pawlenty needs to pounce.
Funny, I was thinking the same thing!
The Hatch daughters seem to have some temper issues too.
Like father, like daughter(s)!
It runs in the party.
Seems Hatch has anger management issues. He came across as unstable at best.
Was this on video, or was it just audio of him doing this?
Just spreading the news. ;o)

Hatch remark fuels renewed flap
The Duluth News Tribune reported today that DFL gubernatorial candidate Mike Hatch called a reporter a "Republican whore" on Thursday, but Hatch denies using those words, saying that he recalls using the word "hack."

Is Mike Hatch melting down?
What if it's Billy Jeff? Can we call him a whore? 8-)
The owners of the newspaper won't say if it was a recorded conversation - but they do say that they stand by the reporter's account of the conversation.
I don't know about the reporter, but Hatch is certainly a Demagogue whore!!
Add me, please!
I love it when these fools lose control and show their true colors! Militant
